Gold Rush API Heritage Month Sale from May 17–31 — www.goldrush.market

In 1992, Congress passed Public Law 102–450 which annually designated May as Asian/Pacific Islander Heritage Month. This month honors the contributions that generations of Asians and Pacific Islanders have made to American history, society, and culture.

Gold House lives to unite, represent, and serve the API community. We recognize that societal change is often sustained economically, and last year’s pandemic negatively impacted Asian-owned businesses more than any other demographic group.

To empower and support the incredible community of Gold Rush founders and select alumni will offer exclusive discounts on your favorite products from May 17 to 31.

Stories behind the products

After supporting 120+ API Founders and 85+ small and medium-sized businesses through the Gold Rush Accelerator Program, it’s only become more apparent to our team that API entrepreneurs are far from a monolith.

Phoebe Yu, an international traveler and businessperson, is the CEO and Founder of ettitude. After moving to Melbourne, Australia, Phoebe spotted an opportunity within the bedding market to create sustainable, luxury sheets for less. Rather than relying on cotton, ettitude produces sheets from bamboo lyocell fabric which is made from 100% organic bamboo and creates 52% less carbon emissions and uses 500x less water than a cotton sheet set. If you’re looking to sustainably welcome a new home, consider gracing your new mattress with ettitude.

Born in Spain to Chinese immigrant parents, Andrea Xu’s (CEO and Co-Founder of Umamicart) diverse upbringing inspired her to build an online experience for customers. With Umamicart, anyone can access delicious products across Asian cuisines. Lao Gan Ma, Chapagetti, and Nishiki rice should never be out of reach no matter where you are!

Mainstream western media focuses largely on South Asia’s poverty and stereotypes. Snigdha Sur started The Juggernaut to bring in unique perspectives centering on the Brown gaze, that’s driven by deep storytelling, great writing, and smart, context-driven voice. With South Asians part of the fastest-growing demographic in the United States, The Juggernaut is authentically covering a needed voice to better understand one of the largest diaspora communities.

The above products are just a preview of a handful of products that are available during the Gold Rush API Heritage Month Sale. Every product featured has a rich origin story driven by the various upbringings and cultures behind the founders’ journey. Our team is proud to showcase these high-quality, personal products that serve as a testament to the diversity of the API diaspora across the United States.

Megan Ruan: At full risk of being trite, Neuro is the best thing since sliced bread. Two mints are the equivalent of an espresso without the jitters and with a burst of clarity and focus you can’t get from java beans. Let’s put it this way, if you could only buy Neuro with Dogecoin, I would just have to do it.

Anna Lu: Trouble unwinding after a long day? Caught in an endless loop of doom scrolling before bed? Potli’s Dream Honey is here to help you out! Melt away and sink into deep, restful, sweet sleeps with 1 tsp of this CBD and melatonin-infused honey before bed.
